From Pacific Pellet's own bag:

Residents of Central Oregon have long known Western Juniper is a highly desirable wood source for heating your home. Juniper burns hot, lights easily and emits a wonder scent when burned. Blended with other wood species native to Oregon, our Juniper pellets are a perfect selection for maximum heating value.

Besides making a fantastic wood pellet, burning Juniper significantly helps the environment! Considered an invasive wood species, Juniper has exploded at an alarming rate, jeopardizing and displacing thousands of acres of native grasslandss and destroying natural rangelands. Juniper also requires enormous amounts of water other native plans and wildlife depend on for their survival.

Recognized as a serious ecological problem, Pacific Pellet is committed to restoration and stewardship projects. Utilizing Juniper demonstrates commitment to the environment, while producing high quality wood pellets.
